BUDDHIST PILGRIMAGE toUR (BUDDHA CALLING)
Day
01 : Kolkata
Welcome to India! You will be received at the international airport Kolkata
and will be transferred to your hotel. Rest of the time completely on your
discretion. In the evening walk in to the colorful street of the old city.
Day 02 : Gaya
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport to board the flight
for Gaya. On arrival you will be received and will be assisted to your hotel.
Relax for a while. Further drive to Bodhgaya in your exclusive vehicle.
Bodhgaya- Where Buddha attained enlightenment. It is probably the most interesting
places of Buddha’s life. It’s also the most important Buddhist pilgrimage
site in the world. There is a very beautiful temple namely “Mahabodhi Temple”.
The focal point of this temple, which marks the spot where Buddha gained
enlightenment and set out on his life of preaching.
Drive back to Gaya in your exclusive vehicle. Rest of the time completely
on you discretion.
Day
03 : Gaya (excursion to Rajgir)
In the morning drive to Rajgir in your exclusive vehicle. Rajgir-Rajgir
is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site since Buddha spent 12 years here,
and the first Buddhist council after Buddha attained nirvana was held here.
Further drive back to Gaya. Rest of the time at leisure.
Day 04 : Varanasi
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Varanasi in your exclusive vehicle.
On arrival check in to your hotel. Relax for a while. Further drive Sarnath.
Sarnath-It is one of Buddhism’s major centers in India. When he had gained
enlightenment at Bodhgaya, the Buddha came to the deer park at Sarnath and
delivered his first sermon (circa 528 BC), usually referred to as Dharmachakra
(The Wheel of Law). Return to your hotel. In the evening you may visit to
the holy river Ganges.
Day 05 : Allahabad (excursion to Kausambi)
In the morning drive to Allahabad in your exclusive vehicle. On arrival
check in at your hotel. Further drive to Kausambi in your exclusive vehicle.
Kausambi-A ancient Buddhist center, once known as Kosam. It was the capital
of the capital King Udaya, a contemporary of the Buddha, and the enlightened
one is said to have preached several sermons here. In the evening drive
back to Allahabad. Evening free at leisure.
Day
06 : Lucknow
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Lucknow. On arrival check in to your
hotel. Rest of the time free for leisure. In the evening you may explore
on your own.
Day 07 : Gorakhpur (excursion to Kushinagar)
Drive to Gorakhpur in your exclusive vehicle. On arrival check in at your
hotel. Relax for a while. Further move out for an excursion of Kushinagar.
Kushinagar- The Buddha is reputed to have breathed his last words. Visit
to Mahaparinirvana Temple and the modern Indojapan-Srilanka Buddhist Center.
You may also visit to the numerous Buddhist Monasteries.
Day 08 : Gorakhpur (excursion to Lumbini)
In the morning drive to Nepal to visit Lumbini (visa easily available on
the spot). Lumbini- it is believed to be the birthplace of Siddhartha Gautama
(the founder of Buddhism) known as Budhha, or the enlightened one. Further
drive back to Gorakhpur. Rest of the time completey on your discretion.
Day
09 : Over night in the Train
The day completely on your discretion. In the evening you will be transferred
to the train station to board the train for New Delhi. Over night in the
air-conditioned saloon.
Day 10 : Departure
On your arrival you will be received and will be transferred to the international
airport to board the flight back to home. The tour ends.
