Anshi National Park is Carved out of erstwhile Dandeli Sanctuary. The Park Contains deep valleys, steep hills and rich forests. Teak (Tectona grandis), Eucalyptus and Silver Oak are introduced species in this park. Variety of wild animals are residents of this park represented by Wild pig small Indian Civet, Spotted Deer, Wild Dog, Indian Elephant, Gaur, Leopard, Indian Python & Hornbill etc.
The Anshi National Park, with a size of 250 Sq. Km. came into existence in the year, 1987. It is located in the North kannada district of Karnataka. The vegetation in this area is semi evergreen and evergreen. Teak (Tectona grandis), Silver Oak (Grevillea robusta), Bambusa (Bamboo) are few plant species available here.
The best period to visit Anshi is November-June. Dandeli (37.5 Km), is the nearest airport. The temperature in the park areas remain between 16oC-37oC. Park Provides rest house facilities rest house facilities the same may be booked in advance through Deputy Conservator of Forests (wildlife) Office at Dandeli.
Anshi National Park is in its infant stage as far as facilities to tourists are concerned, entry is prohibited between 1800hrs to 0600hrs.
