Mumbai
it is a capital city of the Maharashtra, previously Mumbai was famously known
as Bombay. It is one of metropolitan city of India. Mumbai is famous for its world
second largest film city popularly known as Bollywood. It is the fastest moving,
most affluent & most industrialized city in India. It also has India's busiest
international airport & country's busiest port, handling nearly 50% of the
country's total foreign trade. The famous slogan which people use for Mumbai is
- it is a city which never sleeps. Mumbai is most famous for its night parties,
its disco & its enthusiastic crowd which is always ready to get party all
night.
Gateway of India : It is situated at the sea shore in
the days when most visitors came to India by ship & when Bombay was India's
principal port, this was indeed the 'gateway' to India. today it is merely Mumbai's

Causeway : The streets behind the Taj Mahal Hotel are the traveler's centre

Cause way, now renamed Shahid Bhagat Singh Road, extends to the end of the Colaba
promontory, the southern Mumbai Island.
St. John Church : This
church, also known as the Afghan Church, was built in 1838 & is dedicated
to the soldiers who fell in the Sind campaign of 1838 & the First Afghan War
of 1843.
Jehangir Art Gallery : Within the compound of the museum
stands Mumbai's principal art gallery. There are often special exhibitions of
modern Indian art here.
Marine Drive : Now officially renamed
Netaji Subhash Road Marine Drive is built on land reclaimed in1920. It runs along
the shoreline of Back Bay, starting at Nariman Point & sweeping around by
Chowaptty Beach & up to Malabar Hill. The road is backed with high residential
buildings &ids one of Mumbai most popular promenades.
Jain Temple
: This marble temple was built in 1904 &is dedicated to the first Jain
tirthankar, Adinath. It's typical of modern Jain temples in its gaudy, mirrored
style. The walls are decorated with pictures of incident in the lives of the tirthankars.
Hanging
Garden : On the top of the Malabar Hill, these gardens were laid out in 1881
& are correctly known as the Pherozeshah Metha Gardens. They take their names
from the fact that they are built on top of a series of reservoirs that supply
water to the Mumbai. The formally laid out gardens have a notable collection of
hedges shaped like animals & there are good views over the city.
Mahalaxmi Temple : Descending from Malabar Hill & continuing around the
coastline, you come to the Mahalaxmi Temple, the oldest in Mumbai &, appropriately
for this city of business &money, dedicated to the goddess of wealth the images
of the goddess & her two sisters were said to have been found in the sea.
