Kanha National Park is easy to access by railways, roadways and airways. The nearest airports and railheads are at Jabalpur and Nagpur. One can also reach this place through road. The nearest bus terminus is at Mandla in Jabalpur. The National Park established in the year 1955 covers a total area of about 940 square km and houses some diverse species of flora and fauna. Some of the most prominent animal species found in this park includes the Tiger,Leopard,Barasingha,Cheetal,Samber,Wild Dog, Jackal Hyena, Bear, Bison, Blue Bull, Four horned antelope, Barking deer, and Langoor. The Park is closed from July to October every year because of monsoons and so the best time to visit this park is between October and June.
